Honora Shaughnessy is one of four generations of Shaughnessys to live in Montreal West. She tells us about her childhood on Avon which included tobogganing down Ballantyne, skating in the park, ice cream at Elmhurst Dairy, soft drinks from Burkes Pharmacy and going to elementary school in Montreal when Catholic. Her grandfather, who lived on Ballantyne had an impressive career as a coach in both US and Montreal. She later moved back to Montreal West to raise her children, remembering all that the community offered to kids growing up in a big city.
